SanDisk Jumps 35% in a Week — Is the Memory Rally Shifting Into a Higher Gear?

284417
The pace of this memory rally is visibly accelerating. SanDisk rose 6.5% on Friday alone, capping a weekly gain of nearly 35% — an unusual magnitude for a large-cap name — while Micron gained 2.3% over the same stretch, notching its fourth consecutive advance. In Monday's overnight session, SanDisk, Micron, SK Hynix, and DRAM ETFs all continued pushing higher, a sign that conviction around this theme is consolidating quickly. What's notable is that the latest catalyst has moved well beyond vague long-term earnings projections. SanDisk disclosed it has signed agreements with 8 customers, covering roughly half of its fiscal 2027 capacity and about two-thirds of fiscal 2028. The company also plans to ship HBF (high-bandwidth flash) samples to AI inference hardware customers next year. Locking in capacity two to three years out says something meaningful in itself — downstream customers are clearly convinced supply will stay tight. The demand-side setup is worth digging into as well: AI inference workloads are driving a rapid ramp in enterprise SSD and NAND cache demand, and that thread is layering directly on top of an already tight supply-demand balance in HBM and DRAM — two forces simultaneously strengthening pricing power across the entire memory value chain. The real test from here is whether these orders and contract prices actually translate into gross margin expansion — locking in capacity is only step one, and profits ultimately have to do the talking. Among SanDisk, Micron, SK Hynix, Kioxia, and Western Digital, which one do you think converts orders into real earnings first?
