CureVac sues Moderna over COVID-19 vaccine patent infringement

Glonghui, April 27 — German biotechnology company CureVac filed a lawsuit against Moderna last Friday in a federal court in Delaware, accusing its COVID-19 vaccine Spikevax of infringing the company’s patents related to mRNA technology, and demanding compensation in the form of patent royalties based on Spikevax’s sales revenue. Moderna stated in a statement that it is aware of the litigation and will defend itself.
