$GRVT Charles Hoskinson is pushing back on a familiar complaint from his own community, and his answer says a lot about how little control he actually has over the network he founded. On September 29, 2026, after another wave of criticism over slow adoption and a battered ADA price, Hoskinson used X to remind critics that his Charles Hoskinson Cardano role is limited to running a separate company, not steering the blockchain itself. “I am not accountable for Cardano adoption. Full stop. You people cannot seem to get it. Cardano is decentralized. I have no official role. Founders aren’t slaves,” he wrote. Key takeaways Charles Hoskinson is CEO of Input Output Global (IOG), not of the decentralized Cardano network itself. Cardano’s treasury and protocol changes are now controlled by community-elected representatives through on-chain voting, after the original genesis keys were burned. DReps rejected a 12.29 million ADA treasury request tied to an IOG-backed Bitcoin DeFi product. Hoskinson’s marketing push for the Midnight (NIGHT) privacy network sparked an 86% rally in NIGHT, even as ADA sits 92% below its all-time high. Clarifying Charles Hoskinson’s Role in Cardano and IOG Hoskinson‘s title is CEO of Input Output Global, the engineering firm that built much of Cardano‘s original codebase — he does not hold an executive seat inside the decentralized network itself. That distinction is the whole point of his latest rebuttal, and it’s one that keeps tripping up parts of the community that still treat him as the project’s de facto boss. Hoskinson as CEO of Input Output Global IOG is a company with its own leadership structure, its own commercial priorities, and its own CEO in Hoskinson. That’s a very different thing from running Cardano, which has no single corporate head by design. No official executive role in Cardano network Hoskinson has stated plainly that he holds no official executive position inside the decentralized Cardano network and carries no personal responsibility for how fast — or slowly — the ecosystem grows its user base. In practice, that means the buck for adoption numbers doesn’t stop at his desk anymore, even if plenty of critics still send it there. Decentralized Governance and Treasury Control in Cardano Day-to-day power over Cardano’s money and its technical roadmap now sits with community-elected representatives rather than with Hoskinson or any founding figure. That shift didn’t happen by accident — it was engineered into the system through a series of governance upgrades. Transition of protocol control to community-elected representatives Authority over hard forks and treasury spending has moved to representatives chosen by the community, a structural change meant to make Cardano’s decentralization governance real rather than theoretical. Burning of founder’s genesis keys to enforce decentralization Among the most symbolic steps was the burning of the original genesis keys — the cryptographic credentials that once gave the founding entity special access to the protocol. Destroying them removed any technical shortcut Hoskinson or anyone else could use to override community decisions. On-chain voting as mechanism for treasury requests Every treasury ask now has to clear on-chain voting, handled by the network’s decentralized representatives, known as DReps. This is exactly the mechanism that recently worked against an IOG-linked proposal, underscoring that even projects tied to Hoskinson’s own company get no free pass. Governance Decisions and Market Effects A striking real-world test of Cardano’s governance system’s autonomy from Hoskinson’s preferences came when DReps rejected a 12.29 million ADA treasury proposal meant to fund an IOG-backed Bitcoin DeFi product. The rejection lands as a clear signal that community voting carries real teeth, not just procedural weight. Rejection of 12.29 million ADA treasury request for Bitcoin DeFi product The vote against the 12.29 million ADA allocation shows that Cardano treasury on-chain voting can and does block proposals connected to IOG itself, reinforcing Hoskinson’s point that he can’t simply direct funds toward projects he favors. Hoskinson’s marketing impact on Midnight (NIGHT) token price While that treasury debate played out, Hoskinson’s own marketing muscle was busy elsewhere. Over a 48-hour stretch, his promotional push for the Midnight (NIGHT) privacy network drove an 86% rally in the token, pulling speculative trading volume and attention toward NIGHT and away from ADA. Decline in ADA token price and community criticism That timing hasn’t gone unnoticed. ADA has dropped 92% from its all-time high, and the contrast between a sluggish ADA chart and a surging NIGHT token has fed directly into the adoption criticism Hoskinson was responding to in the first place. Implications for Cardano’s Adoption and Ecosystem Development With IOG easing off its old “Cardano-first-and-forever” stance, the company’s attention — and by extension Hoskinson’s — is spreading across multiple projects rather than staying locked on one chain. That’s a meaningful shift for anyone tracking the Charles Hoskinson Cardano role going forward, because it confirms IOG’s priorities and Cardano’s fate are no longer treated as identical. Decentralized governance’s impact on funding and dApp activity Because every treasury decision runs through on-chain voting, funding for developers can move slower than it would under a centralized foundation model. That friction carries real consequences for dApp activity, since projects waiting on community approval don’t get the fast-tracked support a traditional corporate treasury might offer. Community-driven initiatives as key to adoption growth Without a traditional corporate head calling the shots, Cardano’s growth now depends on what developers, dApp builders, and the broader community choose to propose and fund themselves. If the network wants higher transaction volumes or new enterprise partnerships, those initiatives have to be built and pitched from within the decentralized governance framework — not handed down from Hoskinson or IOG. $GRVT This week was mixed but still a reset for crypto. Bitcoin broke above $87k before quickly pulling back below $84k, while Citi turned more bullish, raising its 12-month BTC target to $113k, and Solana ETF inflows slowed sharply to just $2.4 million for the week. In terms of altcoin rotation, the week was mixed, with some mid-caps outperforming while the majors struggled to hold their momentum. Midnight [$NIGHT] – Privacy-focused blockchain reversed back to late-Q1 levels Midnight [$NIGHT] has led this week’s gainers with an impressive 85% rally. In addition, it has recorded a fifth consecutive week of gains, showing consistent buying pressure and pushing $NIGHT into a textbook accumulation phase near the $0.05 mark. Now, the pertinent question is whether $NIGHT is about to sell off after the substantial move higher. Indeed, the altcoin has rallied to match the level where it closed in late Q1, which means both long-term and short-term holders will be closer to breakeven. Thus, there are likely profits to be locked in if the rally fizzles out. However, the RSI still supports the bullish scenario. Despite the strong rally, the indicator did not enter extremely overbought territory, meaning there is still potential for the bulls to absorb selling pressure and for the current structure to develop further. If buying pressure holds, $NIGHT could move above $0.05. Whether buyers absorb selling around that level could determine its next move. Quant [$QNT] – Blockchain project pushed into overheated signals Quant [$QNT] is the second weekly gainer, gaining up 50%. However, unlike $NIGHT’s bullish setup, $QNT’s technical structure is becoming extremely overbought, and there is a risk of near-term selling pressure. On a weekly chart, $QNT’s RSI is already deeply penetrated into the green area, suggesting extremely overbought conditions. This follows last week’s massive 360% rally, so profit-taking is likely, given the current sideways movement around the $260 level. The critical issue now is whether this range becomes accumulation or distribution. Bulls need to protect the $260 area; otherwise $QNT could see a sharper correction. But if buyers absorb the selling and hold this range, the consolidation could set up another move toward $300. Pump.fun [$PUMP] – Memecoin launchpad reached a key inflection point Pump.fun [$PUMP] scored a third place on this week’s gainers chart with a substantial 25% increase. Most importantly, $PUMP is right now very similar to $NIGHT in terms of bullish structure. Technically, RSI remains below the overbought level despite three consecutive weeks of gains, which sent $PUMP back to the pre-October crash level at $0.06. Hence, it is not aggressive accumulation that has driven the rebound but rather steady and strategic accumulation. This may give $PUMP more room to grow. If this structure holds, it would be interesting to see the price break out and go above $0.06 could trigger a FOMO-driven move toward $0.08, putting $PUMP among the altcoins to watch for another round of gains.

🚨 CRYPTO ISN’T MOVING AS ONE MARKET ANYMORE — AND THAT’S THE SIGNAL
📅 October 4, 2026 | Crypto Analyst View Forget the simple question: “Are crypto prices going up or down?” The better question is: «WHERE is the market willing to take risk — and where is it aggressively removing risk?» The latest futures snapshot gives us a fascinating answer. We have coins exploding higher while others are being crushed in the same trading environment. That is not random noise. That is dispersion. And dispersion is where the best market information often hides. --- 🔥 THE MOMENTUM SIDE SAND — 0.06315 | +42.45% SAND is one of the clearest examples of aggressive upside participation. A move this large tells us momentum traders are willing to pay higher prices quickly. But the real test starts after the breakout. If buyers continue defending pullbacks, the move has structural credibility. If every rally is immediately sold, the percentage gain becomes nothing more than a temporary spike. --- MAGMA — 0.35532 | +44.94% MAGMA is another extreme momentum case. Nearly 45% in one session means expectations have changed dramatically in a short period. This is where traders need to stop thinking about “cheap” and “expensive.” The real question is: Is the market accepting the new valuation? Price acceptance matters more than the size of the candle. --- NIGHT — 0.0464403 | +19.65% NIGHT is interesting because its move is powerful without being as extreme as the top two. That creates a useful observation point: Can it maintain a significant portion of the advance while volatility cools? A strong market does not necessarily need another vertical candle. Sometimes the strongest signal is simply price refusing to give back the breakout. --- ATH — 0.006525 | +12.15% ATH represents a different type of strength. It is not leading the leaderboard by percentage, but it is still participating. For analysts, relative strength becomes important here. If BTC pauses and ATH holds firm, that tells us something. If BTC rallies and ATH immediately loses its gains, the apparent strength becomes less convincing. --- CT — 0.5379 | +12.06% CT completes another double-digit move. But here's the trap: A +12% coin isn't automatically healthier than a +45% coin. The percentage only tells us how far price moved. It doesn't tell us: - how liquid the move was - how much volume supported it - whether buyers defended the breakout - whether leverage amplified the move - whether the trend survives the next pullback That is why professional analysis looks beyond the leaderboard. --- ⚠️ NOW LOOK AT THE OTHER SIDE This is where the market becomes much more interesting. 龙虾 — 0.038396 | -64.42% A loss exceeding 60% is not ordinary volatility. This is a market-structure emergency zone. The first reaction from inexperienced traders is often: “It's down so much — it must bounce.” That logic is dangerous. A collapsing asset can become even more volatile before stabilization. The first thing to look for is not a green candle. It is evidence that sellers are losing control. --- BLAST — 0.0002437 | -40.40% BLAST has also experienced a severe repricing. A 40% decline creates a completely different trading environment from a normal correction. The market now needs to establish a new equilibrium. Until that happens, every bounce can simply be another opportunity for trapped holders to exit. --- MOVR — 1.938 | -31.49% MOVR sits deep inside the high-volatility group. A move like this can produce violent countertrend rallies because short sellers take profits and dip buyers appear. But a rebound is not automatically a reversal. One bounce = reaction. Higher low + reclaimed resistance = developing structure. That distinction matters. --- ALICE — 0.1731 | -24.73% ALICE is another example of why percentage losses should be interpreted through structure. The market has removed a substantial amount of value in a single session. Now watch what happens around previous demand zones. If buyers cannot defend them, weakness can remain persistent. If buyers reclaim broken levels with volume, the chart starts telling a different story. --- 2Z — 0.044901 | -19.40% 2Z is down almost 20%. This is large enough to put it firmly into the risk-management category. The key question isn't: “Can it recover?” Almost anything can recover eventually. The better question is: What would prove that sellers have actually lost control? That is the analyst mindset. --- UAI — 0.28682 | -18.74% UAI continues the downside cluster. Here, volume becomes especially important. If selling volume expands while price keeps making lower lows, pressure remains active. If volume begins declining while price stops making new lows, exhaustion may be developing. Not confirmation. But information. --- BP — 1.17251 | -16.81% BP is another meaningful loser. The key observation is whether the market starts producing lower highs or higher lows after the decline. That single structural difference can completely change the interpretation. --- SPORTFUN — 0.01764 | -15.43% SPORTFUN is down more than 15%. This is a reminder that futures markets can amplify moves far beyond what spot traders expect. When leverage gets crowded, liquidation flows can temporarily become more important than fundamental valuation. That is why price can overshoot in both directions. --- SOON — 0.36775 | -14.97% SOON closes the downside group. Its decline is smaller than the extreme losers, but the analytical framework remains identical: Does price stabilize, or does every recovery attempt create another lower high? That is what I would watch next. --- 🧠 HERE'S THE BIGGER MARKET MESSAGE The current market is sitting around $2.9T total capitalization, with BTC dominance near 58.9%. That matters. Because despite spectacular moves in individual altcoins, capital is not yet behaving like a broad, indiscriminate altseason. Instead, the market is rewarding specific names while punishing others. That's selective risk-taking. And current market data reinforces that idea: on October 4, BTC was around $84.8K, ETH around $2.69K, while ZRO was among the strongest large-cap movers. So don't look at one green screen and call everything bullish. Don't look at one red screen and call everything bearish. Watch the divergence. BTC: Is the market leader holding its range? BTC dominance: Is capital actually rotating away from Bitcoin? Altcoins: Are more coins participating, or only a handful? Volume: Is the move attracting real activity? Structure: Are breakouts being defended? Leverage: Are liquidations driving the move? --- 🚨 MY ANALYST CONCLUSION The market is giving us two completely different messages at once. 🚀 Some assets are experiencing aggressive price discovery. 🩸 Others are experiencing forced repricing. That means this is not a market for blindly buying green candles or blindly shorting red ones. It's a market for identifying confirmation. The strongest coin isn't necessarily the one with the biggest green number. The weakest coin isn't necessarily the best short. The opportunity is in identifying the moment when momentum becomes structure. And that is where the next major move usually reveals itself. Don't trade the leaderboard. Read the behavior behind it. 👀📊 👇 ONE QUESTION FOR TRADERS: If you could choose only ONE coin from this entire 18-coin list to watch over the next 24 hours, which one — and why? $BTC $ETH $SOL
