Report: G7 is discussing the establishment of a permanent institution to coordinate the critical minerals agendaIn April, the United States and the European Union agreed to deepen coordination on critical minerals such as lithium, cobalt, and rare earths. However, sources revealed that Europe rejected the idea of establishing a single shared reserve and instead prefers that each country manages its own stockpiles. European governments also do not want the project to be led by the United States, as they are concerned that access to critical minerals could be restricted during a crisis. Since the beginning of this year, the European Union has been advancing its own pilot reserve project, led by Italy, France, and Germany.
