Former Farcaster founder and Tempo team member Dan Romero: Tempo may achieve decentralization within two years, and the head of the Asian market is already in placeAccording to Odaily, former ChainNews founder Liu Feng and former Farcaster founder and Tempo team member Dan Romero recently engaged in a series of discussions on topics including payments, cryptocurrency, and AI Agents. Dan Romero addressed several questions raised by the public and Liu Feng, with the key points as follows: 1. On the shift from idealistic socialfi products to public chains dominated by large enterprises: "The crypto world has changed; now we have stablecoins and crypto (more native) as two things." The goal for Tempo and playbook is: "Start with payment services, cooperate with large, mature companies to help them launch on-chain payments and advance their own businesses; then, combine with DeFi applications to launch yield-generating products that these end users need." 2. "Tempo does not have Meme coins or similar assets, which is a good thing for a conservative bank. Tempo also has other features: compliance and privacy. This may not be as interesting for crypto natives, but it is very appealing for banks." 3. On the core use cases for payments: "Platform-based marketplaces and cross-border payments are two clear use cases for stablecoins." 4. Micropayment-driven Agent payments are worth looking forward to; micropayments based on stablecoins will bring new opportunities: payments between Agents—"the cost of traditional payment methods is too high and cannot be carried out on a large scale. Only cryptocurrency and streaming payments can meet this granularity and speed requirement." 5. "I have great respect for what Ethereum is upholding with its cypherpunk approach to decentralization and I really like their new mission, which is good for the world; but the reality is, enterprises don’t care about these things, they care about whether real-world problems can be solved." "If Tempo can attract 1 million enterprises and 1 billion consumers, it would be good for both cryptocurrency and Ethereum." 6. Tempo's decentralization process: hoping to achieve it in two years, "We are not a bunch of outsiders in suits, we truly understand what we are doing; we know how important decentralization is, but we are also very pragmatic, and I guarantee we will truly get the application running." 7. On the Machine Payment Protocol (MPP) and X402 protocol, AI Agents don't care about the differences between the two; the key to their satisfaction is not requiring human intervention. 8. Tempo’s Head of Asia has taken position and will start working in Singapore.
