U.S. Chief Justice asks Federal Reserve Governor Cook to respond to Trump
BlockBeats News, September 19 — Chief Justice of the United States John Roberts has requested Federal Reserve Governor Cook to respond by September 25 to Trump's demand for her "immediate removal," while not taking action on Trump's related requests for now. Since late August, when Trump announced he would dismiss Cook on grounds of "alleged mortgage fraud" (Cook has denied the accusation), Cook has continued to perform her duties as a Federal Reserve Governor. Currently, the U.S. Supreme Court is considering a request from the Trump administration to overturn a previous court ruling that found Trump's dismissal of Cook unlawful and prohibited the Federal Reserve from carrying out the dismissal.
