UK: December sees continued sluggish expansion in the service sector
UK Services Sector Sees Modest Growth in December
For the eighth month in a row, UK service companies experienced a slight increase in business activity. The rate of growth, however, remained minimal and showed little difference compared to November. December’s seasonally adjusted S&P Global UK Services PMI Business Activity Index edged up to 51.4 from 51.3 the previous month, still well below its historical average of 54.2. This figure also fell short of the preliminary 'flash' estimate of 52.1 for December.
Survey participants continued to highlight tough market conditions, with weak economic outlooks in the UK and limited client spending presenting ongoing challenges for sales and overall business performance.
