Canada’s Merchandise Trade Update for October
In October, Canada experienced a 3.4% rise in merchandise imports, while exports also saw an increase of 2.1%. This shift led to the country moving from a modest trade surplus of $243 million in September to a trade deficit of $583 million in October.

After a 4.3% decline in imports during September, October saw a rebound with imports climbing by 3.4%. Notably, eight out of eleven product categories recorded growth. When measured by volume, total imports advanced by 2.6% for the month. Electronic products were among the categories contributing to this increase.
