Latest Unemployment Claims Report
For the week ending January 3, seasonally adjusted initial jobless claims reached 208,000, reflecting an increase of 8,000 compared to the prior week's updated figure. The previous week's total was revised upward by 1,000, moving from 199,000 to 200,000.
The four-week average of initial claims dropped by 7,250 to 211,750, marking the lowest point for this metric since April 27, 2024, when it stood at 210,250. Additionally, the prior week's average was adjusted up by 250, from 218,750 to 219,000.
For the week ending December 27, the seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate remained steady at 1.2 percent.
