According to CoinWorld, since the summer of 2024, the price of XRP has soared by more than 300%, reigniting investors' dreams. However, a key distinction is often overlooked: banks primarily use Ripple's instant messaging technology (RippleNet) for fiat currency transactions, rather than XRP. Although the On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) product does use XRP as a bridge asset for cross-border payments, it remains a niche solution for smaller institutions rather than large banks. This reality challenges the core investment thesis that "widespread adoption of XRP by the banking industry will directly drive a significant increase in XRP demand."
