BlockBeats News, January 30 — Former CTO of a certain exchange and angel investor Balaji Srinivasan stated today that the fiat currency crisis has already begun to emerge. He noted that physical gold is susceptible to government confiscation (such as the 1933 Roosevelt Order), while Bitcoin and other forms of digital gold offer greater resistance to seizure due to their invisibility and programmability.

In his article, Balaji pointed out that BRICS countries have sharply increased their gold reserves since the 2008 financial crisis, indicating a shift in the East toward physical assets. However, he believes the internet will replace the dollar-dominated Keynesian system with digital assets.

Balaji concluded that for people living in North America and Western Europe—countries facing sovereign debt crises—gold may not necessarily be the best safe-haven asset, and Bitcoin is a hedge worth considering.
