Euro area records a €12.6 billion surplus in international goods trade
Euro Area Trade Surplus in December 2025
In December 2025, the euro area recorded a trade surplus of €12.6 billion in goods with countries outside the region, slightly lower than the €13.9 billion surplus seen in December 2024.
Exports of goods from the euro area to the rest of the world reached €234.0 billion, representing a 3.4% increase compared to the €226.3 billion exported in December 2024. Imports also grew, totaling €221.3 billion, which is a 4.2% rise from €212.4 billion in the same month of the previous year.
Compared to November 2025, the trade balance improved, with the surplus climbing to €12.6 billion in December. However, when compared year-on-year to December 2024, the surplus showed a slight decrease.
