GDP increased by 0.3% and employment rose by 0.2% within the euro area
Euro Area and EU GDP Growth in Late 2025
According to preliminary data released by Eurostat, the European Union's statistical agency, the gross domestic product (GDP) for both the euro area and the EU rose by 0.3% in the fourth quarter of 2025, after seasonal adjustments, compared to the previous quarter. In the preceding third quarter, the euro area also saw a 0.3% increase, while the EU as a whole experienced a slightly higher growth of 0.4%.
Looking at the full year of 2025, estimates based on seasonally and calendar-adjusted quarterly figures show that GDP expanded by 1.5% in the euro area and by 1.6% across the EU. When compared to the same period in the previous year, the euro area's GDP grew by 1.3% after seasonal adjustments.
