Goldman Sachs: ECB Expected to Raise Rates in April
On March 23, Goldman Sachs currently predicts that the European Central Bank will raise rates by 25 basis points in both April and June 2026, having previously forecasted that rates would remain unchanged this year. This adjustment aligns with predictions from JPMorgan and Barclays, both of which also expect the ECB to take action in April. Goldman Sachs noted that conflicts in the Middle East have introduced inflation risks, with rising energy prices being a major concern.
