The Houthi armed group in Yemen announced that if any allies join the United States and Israel, they will side with Iran and may blockade the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, affecting global trade. Although the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait is less significant than the Strait of Hormuz, a blockade would force Saudi oil shipments to take a much longer route. The escalating situation has already pushed WTI crude oil prices above 100 US dollars per barrel, and gasoline and diesel prices have also risen due to global uncertainty.
