Foresight News reports, according to AASTOCKS, that Hong Kong police stated on the “CyberDefender” platform that a woman in Hong Kong fell victim to a crypto pig-butchering scam, losing over HK$2 million. The scammer followed a woman in her fifties on IG and initiated contact through comments, quickly establishing a romantic relationship by showing care and concern. The scammer then claimed to be a “crypto investment expert” and lured her into the trap. The scammer first induced the victim to transfer HK$40,000 as an account opening fee for an investment website, then demanded she visit a physical exchange store seven times with cash to exchange for USDT, transferring the USDT to the scammer’s e-wallet. Once the funds were received, the scammer immediately lost contact.
