Golden Ten Data reported on April 13 that Philippine President Marcos announced on the 13th a temporary suspension of consumption taxes on liquefied petroleum gas and kerosene, aiming to address the impact of international energy supply tensions on the Philippine economy and people's livelihood. Data from the Philippine Department of Energy and the Philippine Statistics Authority show that liquefied petroleum gas is the primary fuel used by Filipino households for cooking, with domestic demand for liquefied petroleum gas continuing to rise in recent years and annual consumption already exceeding 3 billion liters. Kerosene is an important energy source for lighting and cooking among residents in remote mountain areas, with annual consumption exceeding 100 thousand tons. The Philippines relies on imports for more than 90% of its energy, with most imported energy coming from the Middle East. Affected by the US–Israel–Iran conflict, Marcos declared a nationwide energy emergency in the Philippines on March 24 and adopted a series of measures to deal with rising energy prices.
