Fed's Beige Book: Tensions with Iran are causing uncertainty among businesses
Federal Reserve Reports Business Uncertainty Amid Iran Conflict
According to the latest Beige Book from the Federal Reserve, the ongoing conflict in Iran is making it more challenging for companies to plan investments, hire new employees, and manage rising expenses. The report, released on Wednesday, notes that most of the Fed's districts saw only minor to modest growth in economic activity, while Boston and New York experienced slight downturns.
Despite severe winter conditions in many regions, consumer spending remained resilient and employment levels were largely unchanged. The Beige Book, which is published eight times annually, offers a snapshot of economic trends and business sentiment across the Fed’s 12 districts, drawing on interviews and surveys with local contacts.
