Xi Jinping Calls for Uninterrupted Shipping in Strait of Hormuz
During a recent phone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of ensuring vessels can freely pass through the Strait of Hormuz, according to Xinhua News Agency. Xi highlighted the need to restore regular maritime traffic following nearly 50 days of disruptions, which have had a notable effect on China's oil imports.
He stated, "Maintaining normal navigation in the Strait of Hormuz serves the common interests of both regional nations and the global community." Xi also advocated for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in the region.
