The UK plans to attract Australian pension funds to invest in key projects, aiming to bring in £99 billion by 2035.

Golden Ten Data reported on May 11 that, according to the Financial Times, the UK government has announced a plan to attract £99 billion in overseas pension investments into key UK projects by 2035. A new agency led by the Investment Office, the "Supers Unit," aims to enhance cooperation and simplify the process for Australian pension funds to invest in growth sectors, including infrastructure, real estate, and private markets. Previously, UK Chancellor Reeves and Australian Treasurer Chalmers signed a memorandum of understanding during last month's International Monetary Fund meeting to support greater investment flows between the two countries' pension and retirement funds. UK Investment Minister Lord Jason Stockwood stated that this new unit "will pave the way for significant investment in key UK projects." According to a report by infrastructure investment firm IFM, as of mid-2025, Australian pension fund investments in the UK have reached approximately £41 billion.
