Previously in March, about two weeks after the Iran conflict broke out, he stated that it was "very likely" that gasoline prices would fall back below $3 per gallon to pre-war levels before the busy summer travel season. When asked on Sunday about the above statement made in March, he said he could not make predictions and added, "What I can say is that when we start to see traffic through the Strait of Hormuz flow smoothly again, energy prices will decline."
