India and Peru are expected to hold talks on a free trade agreement in June

Golden Ten Data reported on May 11 that a senior Peruvian diplomat revealed India and Peru are likely to hold the next round of talks on the proposed Free Trade Agreement next month, with both sides expected to sign the agreement by the end of the year. Javier Paulinich, Peru's ambassador to India, said, “In principle, we will resume negotiations in June.” Paulinich also pointed out that as the world's third-largest copper producer, Peru is currently negotiating critical mineral issues with India. Hindalco Industries of India also intends to purchase copper from Peru. He said, “I believe they are trying to negotiate.”
