Golden Ten Data, May 13 – France’s unemployment rate unexpectedly rose to its highest level in five years, further indicating that the economic foundation of the eurozone’s second-largest economy was already fragile before the outbreak of the Iran war. Data from the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee) shows that as unemployment rates increased across all age groups, the overall rate reached 8.1%. Previously, economists had predicted the unemployment rate would fall slightly from 7.9% at the end of last year to 7.8%.
