Charles Hoskinson: Section 604 of the CLARITY Act Could Hamper Open-Source Innovation
According to Odaily, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson commented on the removal of Section 604 from the CLARITY Act, stating that this clause could cause open-source developers to bear long-term legal liability for how others use their code. He pointed out that after developers release open-source software, even if others subsequently misuse the code without consent, the developers could still be held permanently accountable, adding that this would pose a serious threat to the open-source innovation environment.
