Societe Generale: If UK data is weaker than expected, the pound may come under pressure
According to Golden Ten Data on May 18, Kit Juckes, an analyst at Société Générale, stated in a report that if UK economic data to be released this week are weaker than expected, the pound may come under pressure. The UK’s employment data will be released on Tuesday, followed by the UK inflation data on Wednesday and the UK retail sales data on Friday. He said: “A series of economic data this week... if things turn out to be worse than people fear, it will only further depress the pound's exchange rate.” Recently, the pound's exchange rate has already declined due to political uncertainty in the UK.
