General Motors will begin assembling Chevrolet Groove and Aveo in Mexico

This project is part of General Motors’ previously announced $1 billion investment plan in Mexico and was announced at an event attended by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. General Motors will launch local assembly at its Ramos Arizpe plant in 2027, targeting the Mexican market, with the goal of reaching annual production of 80 thousand vehicles by 2030. The Aveo is one of the best-selling models in Mexico and is General Motors’ top-selling model in the country. In 2025, General Motors sold over 60 thousand Aveo vehicles in Mexico, and this year’s sales are expected to set another record.
