Once a substantive agreement is reached with the Oil Sands Alliance regarding the "Pathways" carbon capture project, a major strategic obstacle to establishing a brand-new oil pipeline to the coast of British Columbia (BC) will be completely removed. Smith is vigorously promoting the construction of this new pipeline, which is aimed at exporting to the Asian market, in order to significantly boost Alberta's crude oil production. The detailed route of the pipeline is scheduled to be announced before July 1, with a plan to obtain conditional administrative approval before October 1.
