US 10-Year Treasury Yield Falls 1.18 Basis Points to 4.5578%
On May 23, Friday (May 22), at the New York close, the yield on the US 10-year benchmark Treasury fell by 1.18 basis points to 4.5578%. Before Federal Reserve Governor Waller's speech, it hit a daily low of 4.5241% at 21:16 UTC+8. Following Waller's remarks, it rebounded, reaching a daily high of 4.5837% at 22:50. Kevin Walsh stabilized at a high point around his swearing-in as Fed Chair at 00:00. For the week, the yield has dropped a total of 3.55 basis points, trading between 4.6853% and 4.5241%. Meanwhile, the yield on the 2-year Treasury rose by 3.79 basis points to 4.1210%, also hitting a daily low of 4.0505% before the US stock market opened. After Waller's speech, it continued to rise, reaching a daily high of 4.1423% at 00:05 during Walsh's swearing-in, with a cumulative increase of 5.22 basis points for the week, having previously plummeted to 4.0085% at 23:00 on May 20.
