Japanese data center operator Sakura Internet considers increasing spending sevenfold to meet demand
BlockBeats News, on May 25, according to Bloomberg, Sakura Internet Inc.'s CEO stated that in order to keep up with the surge in demand for AI in Japan, the company may need to raise its capital expenditure to nearly seven times the original plan.
This data center operator is considering investing up to 20 billion to 30 billion yen (approximately 125 million to 190 million US dollars) this fiscal year. Founder and CEO Kunihiro Tanaka said this figure is far higher than the official capital expenditure plan of 4.4 billion yen announced last month by the Osaka-based company.
