Data shows that in May, Germany's energy prices increased by 6.6% year-on-year, lower than the 7.2% increase in March and the 10.1% in April. Analysts pointed out that the slowdown in energy price rises is related to the government's temporary fuel subsidy measures. Starting from May 1, Germany reduced the gasoline and diesel tax by about €0.17 per liter for two months. However, German Transport Minister Volker Wissing recently stated that the government's financial capacity to maintain the fuel subsidy is limited, and the rising related costs will eventually push up the prices of food and daily necessities.
