In 2022, this store made history by becoming the first Apple retail location in the United States to form a union. Now, it has become one of three Apple stores to be closed. Apple has attributed the closure to “the withdrawal of several retailers and the worsening operational conditions of the shopping mall,” particularly the one where the Towson store is located. However, union representatives stated that Apple’s treatment of employees at the Towson store was harsher than in similar situations previously, making it more difficult for employees to continue working for the company.
