The Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until a US-Iran agreement framework is reachedBlockBeats News, April 12th, according to CNN reports, an Iranian security official said that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until a "common framework" for continued negotiations between Iran and the United States is reached.
The official stated that the US has put forward "excessive demands" on multiple issues, including important waterways, which have so far prevented both parties from reaching an agreement on a common ground and advancing the negotiations.
The official said, "Iran is not in a hurry to take action." He also stated that Tehran has conveyed to the US that the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz will remain unchanged until a common framework is reached, and that "even the previously agreed-upon number of ship passages will not be achievable." If US negotiators do not present a "realistic prospect," the strait will remain closed.
