Workers at Australia Ichthys LNG project cancel strike plan```htmlGolden Ten Data reported on May 26 that workers at Australia's Inpex-owned Ichthys liquefied natural gas export project will not go on strike as originally planned on Wednesday and Thursday. A spokesperson for the union "Offshore Alliance" said the strike action was canceled because “progress has been made in negotiations.” The Ichthys project accounts for about 2% of the global liquefied natural gas production, with an annual export capacity of around 9.3 million tons, mainly exported to Japan. Considering that about one-fifth of global LNG supply is currently disrupted, the planned strike could have had a greater impact on the market than usual. The union is seeking pay raises and better working conditions for workers at the Ichthys offshore gas field and onshore plant. The union previously stated that negotiations with Inpex have been ongoing for more than a year, but no agreement has yet been reached.```
