US Stocks Movement: Chinese New Energy Vehicle Stocks Rise in Premarket as China's March Auto Exports Exceed Expectations
Glonghui, April 10 — U.S.-listed Chinese new energy vehicle stocks rose in pre-market trading, with Li Auto up more than 3% and NIO up more than 2%. According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China’s auto exports exceeded expectations in March this year. In March, automobile exports reached 875,000 units, up 30.2% month-on-month and 72.7% year-on-year. Among them, new energy vehicle exports were 371,000 units, up 130% year-on-year. From January to March, automobile exports totaled 2.226 million units, up 56.7% year-on-year; of these, new energy vehicle exports reached 954,000 units, up 120% year-on-year. Chen Shihua, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, stated that the rapid growth in China’s automobile exports is the result of multiple favorable factors working together. First, new energy vehicles have become the core driving force behind the growth of automobile exports. Second, the complete and highly efficient auto industry supply chain ensures stable supply and delivery capacity; combined with economies of scale, this further enhances the international competitiveness of China’s auto products.
